  28. I just purchased a copy of LightWave 3.5 Standalone to get ready for the 
  29. 4.0 PC version and gave them a call to see what the upgrade procedure 
  30. is...here's what I found out:

  32. NewTek will not be taking phone orders for LW 4.0 PC until after April 17th.

  34. Your copy of LW 3.5 Standalone needs to be registered with NewTek before 
  35. they will take your upgrade order.  (Send in them registration cards!)

  37. There is no upgrade path for people who purchased the Video Toaster 
  38. version of LW 3.5....System 4.0 for the Video Toaster, which will include 
  39. LW 4.0 for Amiga, will only be available through NewTek dealers and mail 
  40. order houses.

  42. The woman I spoke to had no idea when LW 4.0 or Toaster System 4.0 would 
  43. actually begin shipping...maybe NewTek is reconsidering their plans to 
  44. release an unfinished version of LightWave 4.0?

  46. I'm a little disappointed that those of us who jumped at the LW 3.5 
  47. upgrade for our Video Toasters are now being left out in the cold....I 
  48. seem to recall reading many posts on the NewTek BBS last summer that 
  49. there would be LightWave upgrades from 3.5 to 4.0 for both Standalone and 
  50. Video Toaster owners both.  =(
